Simulated Urinalysis Kit - In this activity, students will use simulated urine to avoid the unpleasantness of using the real thing while still performing actual tests used on real urine samples. Students will examine the simulated urine for factors such as pH, color, and clarity, as well as test for the presence or absence of proteins, glucose, and calcium. Further activities are included. Kit includes: four 250 ml bottles of simulated urine samples of (three samples from different patients and a control sample), two 25 ml bottles each of Benedicts reagent, Biuret solution, and Sulkowitchs reagent, pkg. of 100 pH test strips, box of microscope slides, pkg. of cover slips, 60 graduated plastic cups (30 ml), and 60 graduated pipettes (1 ml). Needed but not supplied are a hot water bath, test tubes, and compound microscopes. Contains enough materials for 15 groups of students as well as a teachers guide and student worksheets.
